North and East Housing Association was established in 1992 and has been working with local authorities and communities for over 20 years, developing and managing social housing dwellings in the North Eastern region of the country. At present we have a managed stock of 373 homes and have a development programme that will see the stock increase to in excess of 500 by the end of 2017.
Application to the Housing Finance Agency plc for Certified Body Status
North & East Housing are delighted to announce that we have been awarded Certified Body Status by the Housing Finance Agency plc (HFA). The HFA was established as a state-owned company in 1982 and provides loan finance to local authorities and Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) for housing and related purposes. The granting of Certified Body Status allows Housing Associations access to a wide range of financial products at competitive rates.
North & East has now become the 14th Approved Housing Body granted Certified Body Status. The HFA requires Housing Associations to have robust Corporate Governance and clearly defined future development plans. HFA approval will now allow North & East access to an additional range of funding products. It puts the organisation in a much stronger position to finance future housing developments across the North Eastern region of the country and is an important step in achieving our future development plans as outlined in our 5 year Strategic Plan, 2016 – 2020 available on our website at www.northandeast.ie
